AVOCADO IS BEARD FOOD!

Is avocado good for your beard?

The avocado, a humble fruit, is known to be highly nutritious with many health benefits due to it’s vitamin and mineral content, essential fatty acids and high antioxidant profile. With vitamins A, vitamins B, vitamins C, copper, fiber, folate, potassium and vitamin K, this superfood is one of the best ways to naturally treat skin and hair concerns. Sounds good right? It therefore comes as no surprise that the benefits of avocados are endless. Let’s take a look into how this green goodness can improve the look and feel of your face fuzz, and the flow on effects it has on your health.

I’m writing this while my beard is full of mashed avocado… Sometimes I wonder.

Is avocado good for your hair?

Avocado is high in amino acids and proteins, which work towards reducing inflammation, nourishing the hair and scalp, in turn reducing dryness and the associated itch. Avocados restore the natural pH levels in the skin too, which is great for healing and restoring moisture and balance. A healthy beard starts with healthy skin, as it is the core foundation of an unreal beard.

Beard care tips using avocado

Mashing up an avocado and massaging it into the beard and skin is a great way to restore balance, promote beard health, soften and make that beard shine. After 15 minutes, rinse off in the shower with a beard conditioner. You may look ridiculous for 15 minutes, but the results will be worth it. Adding a tablespoon of honey to your avocado mash will also add antibacterial properties.

Blending an avocado in milk (substitute your alternative such as coconut milk, almond milk etc), with added honey (agave), chia seeds and spinach (optional) is a drink that may sound funny but will promote health from the inside out. Your beard will be provided with the right nutrients to grow, and people will stop you on the street thinking you’re Chet Faker.

So there you go, the avocado could be a new addition to your diet and beard care routine. I have now washed out the avocado and applied beard oil. It was a messy experience, but my beard feels super soft and that keeps me a happy beardologist!
